In conjunction with International Women's Day on March 8, I would love to introduce some NGOs in Malaysia empowering women as well as all gender, fight for human's rights and ending violence against all gender.

International Women's Day (IWD), is a day to celebrate women achievement and emphasis equality. It is held yearly on 8th of March. The theme for IWD 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge . Join the movement by raise your hand to show you are in! Snap a photo and share it on social media using the #ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021 . United Nations (UN) too issued a 2021 theme: "Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world" to highlight the impact from women worldwide as health care workers, caregivers, innovators and community organizers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All Women's Action Society (AWAM) provide free counselling and legal services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivor regardless of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity. Counselling session available through phone, Skype or virtual meeting room.
AWAM is a feminist NGO that plays a significant role fighting for women's right, namely through law reforms such as the Domestic Violence Act (DVA) 1994. AWAM has been working with many other NGOs through the coalition Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG) to draft and propose Sexual Harassments Bill for over 20 years.

Programs include Gender Based Violence (GBV) Program, Anti-Sexual Harassment (SH) Program, and Feminis Buatan Malaysia (FBM). They began their journey in 1980's fighting Violence Against Women (VAW), in early 2000's, they include the gendered violence against LGBTQ+, to be more inclusive as the movement GBV.

Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) provide shelter, teaching survivors about rights & options, provide programs to help women & children rebuild lives who were victims of domestic abuse.
Established in 1982, WAO fighting for women's rights in Malaysia, raise awareness about domestic violence and rape through education. WAO too improved legislature in the Domestic Violence Act (DVA). They set up the Domestic Violence Shelter Standards and Toolkit partnered with the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development (KPWKM),
WAO is the first NGO providing shelter for abused women and children in Malaysia.
They are now the largest service provider to the country's domestic abuse survivor.
They introduce WAO shop selling merchandise via Carousell and Instagram. You can donate to WAO through their website. Currently only accepting washing machine, cleaning item & toiletries, food (not within one month of expiration date) and prefer monetary donation above all else,

Sister In Islam (SIS) provide legal support for Muslim women through Telenisa and financial assistance through the Dr Nik Noriani Legal Aid Fund.
As a Islamic country, SIS is formed to advance the rights of Muslim women in Malaysia within the framework of Islam. SIS provide recourses related to Shariah Islamic Family Law such as divorce, polygamy, alimony of wife and children, matrimonial property, hijab, child marriage and others.
SIS set up Gabungan Hak Wanita Islam (Gahwi), a coalition of single mother's organisations from all over Malaysia.
SIS advocate human rights with their research and publications on books, brochure and bulletin. Their collaboration partners includes MUSAWAH, JAG, Empower, Sarawak Women for Women Society, EU, RRAAM. SIS accepts donations from all sources, personal as well as corporate, local as well as international. Donations are tax deductible.

Women's Centre for Change (WCC) helps women and children who are abused, raped or sexually assaulted. They provide face to face, telephone and email counseling, temporary shelter and legal advice. All cases are promised to be confidential and free of charge.
WWC Value Shop, is a thrift shop, promoting environment-friendly as their tagline "We Care, We Change, We Share".
Located at Island Plaza, Tanjung Tokong and Bayan Baru.
They create videos such as "surviving court" to explain the steps from reporting a crime to going through the court process (available in Malay, English, Mandarin, Tamil), teaching children to prevent sexual abuse, newsletter and handbook assist domestic violence victims.

Reproductive Rights Advocacy Alliance Malaysia (RRAAM) provide information on safe, affordable and women friendly abortion services, and help you find out more about contraception suitable for you. RRAAM offers free consultation as well.
RRAAM believe all women have the right to access legal, safe and affordable contraceptive and abortion services.
They educate to raise awareness and access to these rights among women, health providers, NGOs, policy makers, media and public. Emphasis and encourage women and girls to have greater bodily autonomy. RRAAM communicate with the Ministry of Health and the Malaysian Medical Association to provide women friendly services and affordable health care.
RRAAM member organisations includes AWAM, WAO, SIS, Association of Women Lawyers (AWL), Federation of Reproductive Health Associations Malaysia (FRHAM). Funder includes Women's Fund Asia (WFA), partner organisation For Youth Initiative (FYIKL).
